CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS
Much of Dr. Jiao's research involved theoretical investigation and
field application of hydrogeology, engineering and environmental geology.
His current reserachinterests include:
- influence of groundwater and rainfall on landslides;
- impact of human activities (large-scale land reclamation, foundations of
extensive urbanization area) on regional groundwater regimes.
- optimal dewatering system design for slope de-pressurisation;
- abnormal fluid pressure in sedimentary basins and itsimplication on waste
disposal;
- contaminant fate and transport modeling and groundwater remediation design
- field and laboratory studies of contaminants in heterogeneous aquifers;
- global optimization approaches for parameter identificationin flow and
transport modeling, and
- parameter sensitivity analysis and its influence on parameter estimation.
